Braves picked for 6th in MVC; Northern Iowa favored to repeat

The Bradley men's basketball team was picked for sixth place in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll announced Tuesday at media day.

BU collected 208 votes and finished just behind fifth-place Wichita State's 216.

As expected, defending champion Northern Iowa was the overwhelming favorite to repeat. The Panthers received 38 first-place votes of 39 cast. Second-place Creighton snagged the other one.

Illinois State was chosen for third place and Southern Illinois for fourth.

The Bradley women were also picked for sixth place. Creighton was the solid choice for first with 34 of 40 first-place votes. Illinois State received  the other first-place tallies.
