Mark your calendar for Saturday, November 1st, for the seventh annual Irish Pub Night and Fish Fry, a fundraiser for the Southern Illinois Irish Festival. This fun evening begins with a fish, chips, and slaw dinner prepared by the cooks at the Carbondale Elks Club, 220 W. Jackson Street in Carbondale from 5-8 p.m. Vegetarian fare will also be available. Don’t forget to sample the variety of soda breads and yummy desserts baked by festival volunteers.
Music will be provided by The Dorians with Bunny Le Baron, Chris Ashton on harp, and Special Guests. Audience members will also be invited to join in the entertainment by submitting limericks and by participating in dancing to the jigs and reels. A Silent Auction will also take place, with a variety of Irish items and other donations.
Advance tickets for the evening are $12 for adults ($14 at the door), $10 for students, and $5 for children 12 and under. Admission after 8 p.m. is $5.

Proceeds will go toward the 2009 Southern Illinois Irish Festival which will take place in Carbondale the weekend of April 24-26th.
