Fiddling classes start Sept. 8 at John A. Logan College
Continuing Education fiddling classes will begin Sept. 8 on the campus of John A. Logan College, Carterville.
Beginners will meet on Mondays in room B53 and intermediate students on Thursdays in B60, both at 6 p.m.

Learning by ear and note, students play country and folk tunesÊinÊbluegrass, Cajun, Celtic, and blues styles.

SPLATTERED INK OPEN HOUSE
The dust is still settling at 1214 Walnut Street in Murphysboro and www.splatteredink.com" Splattered Ink wants to show off the progress on their new home.  
Darryl and Kelly Jones, owners of the visual communications company and the property currently under renovation, invite the public to an open house showcasing the  www.siprofessionalbuilding.com" Splattered Ink Professional Building.  The open house will take place following the 2008 Murphysboro Apple Festival Parade on Saturday, September 13th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Tours of the office space along with hors d'oeuvre and drinks will be available.
“We’ve still got a long way to go,” says Jones, “but we’re glad that we can show the public our progress during Apple Festival.”
The Splattered Ink Professional Building will be the newest combined office space in the Murphysboro area offering tenants the space and amenities needed to start and/or maintain a business in a professional setting.  Also available to community organizations will be a conference room with a complete multimedia center.
Splattered Ink provides graphic design, full-color printing, website development, marketing services and product design to a wide range of customers.  For more information contact 618-565-2206.

Class of '63 to hold reunion Sept. 13
Murphysboro Township High School class of 1963 will be having their 45th Êclass reunion on September 13, 2007.
Class members will meet and greet at the 17th Street Warehouse at 6:00 followed by dinner.
Friends of the class of ‘63 are invited to join us after 8:00.

TOWER ROCK   AND   IRON FURNACE RECREATION AREA   UPDATES
Harrisburg, IL, August 27, 2008 - The Hidden Springs District Ranger is announcing that Tower Rock Campground gate has been opened and is available for primitive camping.  No potable drinking water is available and no fee will be charged.  The area will remain open until December 15.

The Leggans Family Reunion will be held on Saunday, Sept. 7, 2008 at the Glenn Schlimpert Recreation Area located just off the Ava Blacktop north of Murphysboro.
A potluck meal will be served at 1 p.m. Come early and stay late and enjoy good food and fellowship. There will be a raffle for a mini quilt again this year.
All family and friends are encouraged to attend. For more directions, call 684-6604.
