The student of the month program recognizes senior students each month based upon character, academics, and school involvement.  Students must complete an application in order to be considered for this award.  A group composed of the high school principal, assistant principal, guidance counselor and senior teachers, screen the applications.  After the screening process, this group selects the winners for each month.  The winners are sponsored by the following area businesses: First Bank and Trust, Murphy-Wall State Bank & Trust Co. and West Transportation.
Each monthly winner will receive a $100 savings bond and an engraved plaque.  From the monthly winners, students are selected to receive Senior of the Year awards.  Each of these students will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

September-Students of the Month: Aaron Erbes, Karissa Grammer. October-Students of the Month: Abby Bateman, Phylesha Sigman. November-Students of the Month: Cody Brashear, Garrett Burroughs. December-Students of the Month: Hilary Brewer, Meagan Maloney.
