Murphysboro CUSD #186 will hold a free preschool screening on March 26 from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Murphysboro Youth and Rec Center.
The screening will include children from birth through age 5 who are not eligible for kindergarten. Please call 888-340-6702 for an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome, and will be served on a first come first serve basis.
The screening is free of charge. Game-like activities will check children's muscle development, personal and social skills, thinking and problem solving skills, and language development. Vision, hearing, and speech will also be checked. Representatives from area programs serving children and families will be available to share information about their programs.
