On Jan. 2, Detectives with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office arrested Raymond Martin, Kristina R. Martin and Cody R. Martin.
The arrests were made pursuant to warrants signed by Judge W. Charles Grace, following a request by Jackson County State's Attorney Michael L. Wepsiec.
The Martin's are each charged with Solicitation of Murder for Hire. Raymond Martin is the Sheriff of Gallatin County, and was an inmate of the Jackson County Jail at the time of his arrest. Kristina Martin is the wife of Raymond Martin and is a resident of Junction. Cody Martin is the son of Raymond Martin and is a also a resident of Junction.
All three Martin's are currently incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail in lieu of bond set at $1,000,000.00 for each defendant. Raymond Martin is also currently facing Federal Drug Charges. The defendants were expected to make their first court appearance on Tuesday.
Solicitation of Murder for Hire is a Class X Felony in the state of Illinois. It is punishable by a sentence of imprisonment of not less than 20 years and not more than 40 years.
