After an investigation conducted by the Murphysboro Police Department, with the assistance of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, 31-year old Jason Alan Browder of Murphysboro was arrested on a warrant charging him with five counts of possession of child pornography.
Browder's residence was searched on May 7 after a Jackson County Judge issued a search warrant. Browder's computers were seized at that time and a preliminary investigation was conducted revealing images and videos of a pornographic nature. Several of the subjects depicted in the images and videos are suspected to be well under the age of 18 and of a pornographic nature.
An arrest warrant was issued for Browder, and he was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail with a bond of $1 million. Browder will appear in court in the near future.
The investigation into this matter continues.
