Entries are needed for the 4th Annual Logan Days Photo Exhibit in 2010. The exhibit invites amateur photographers from the region to submit photos of the sights, scenes and personalities of Southern Illinois.
First, second, and third place awards will be awarded and all of the entries will be on display in the museum at 1613 Edith Street in Murphysboro from Logan Days in May, 2010 until mid September, 2010. This competition is open to all amateur photographers and features four categories that capture a piece of Southern Illinois’ culture, beauty and people. The categories are: Buildings of Southern Illinois, Landscapes of Southern Illinois, Flora and Fauna of Southern Illinois, People of Southern Illinois, and Events, Celebrations, or Activities related to Southern Illinois History and Culture. There is also a junior division for young photographers (10-17 years of age) in the same categories. Cash prizes and ribbons will be awarded for each category in the adult division and junior division.
To qualify, the entrants must be an amateur photographer, earning less than 10% of their annual salary from the photo business and the photos must be taken in Southern Illinois. Details regarding entry fees, submission instructions and deadline will be posted on the museum’s web site www.loganmuseum.org. Start snapping those cameras now!  This exhibit is sponsored by the First Bank and Trust Company of Murphysboro, Illinois.
