Delbert Lee Alms, age 71, of Round Rock TX, formerly of Murphysboro died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at his home in Round Rock.
He was born on April 29, 1938 in Campbell Hill, IL to Herman and Lydia (Gerlach) Alms. He married Janet McCuen on May 28, 1961. She survives him.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Murphysboro. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Murphysboro. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and helping others in there time of need.
He is survived by his wife, Janet of Round Rock, TX; 2 daughters, Stacy Alms-Alabed and Angie Sawyer, both of Round Rock, TX; 2 granddaughters, Melanie Alabed and Reagan Sawyer, both of Round Rock TX; 1 grandson, Braden Sawyer of Round Rock, TX; 1 brother, Evert Alms of Campbell Hill, IL; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Monday, January 18, 2010 at Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home, Old Rt 13 between Carbondale and Murphysboro with Pastor Franklyn Schroeder officiating.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:00PM, Monday, January 18, 2010 at Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home.
