Julia “Judy” Pugh, age 72, died on Friday, October 23, 2009 at her home in Murphysboro. 
She was born on September 28, 1937 in Ava, IL to Benjamin and Leah Duff McBride. She married Don Pugh on July 1, 1954.
She loved softball, playing regularly into her sixties, gardening, fishing and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband Don of Murphysboro.
3 sons, David L. (Karen) Pugh of Murphysboro, Dennis L. (Vera) Pugh, of O’Fallon, IL and Dr. Darrell L. (Patricia) Pugh of Pensacola, FL. 1 daughter, Deborah L. Pugh of Waterloo, IL. 2 sisters, Virginia Doetch of Poplar Grove, IL and Louise McGuire of Malta, IL. 2 brothers, Duff McBride of Ava and Danny McBride of Murphysboro. 3 sisters-in-law, Judy Mileur of Florida, Melba June McBride of Ava and Georgia Lee Riggio of Red Bud, IL. 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren. 2 special friends, Dixie Piskos of Belleville, IL and Judy Penrod of Murphysboro.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, Helen, Lucille and Wilma and 2 brothers, Ivan and Cliff.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home, Old Rt. 13 between Carbondale and Murphysboro with Danny Mileur officiating.  Interment will be in Murdale Gardens of Memory.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Murphysboro 1st Christian Church, American Cancer Society or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
