Hi,
You know sometimes we just think of all the bad things happening in our life. But how about the good things, like your good health, your family and friends, getting around as good as you're able to, and being able to go places and see things?
I know I get happy thinking about having four children and numerous grandchildren and being around them once in a while. I have a great grandson, and a great grand daughter who live here. Most of my family live out of town, but they come to see me pretty often or we get together at different times and enjoy our visits. So look at the good side of your life, and it will help you a lot.
The Apple Festival has come and gone. I hope you all enjoyed the pancakes and the many things that were going on, like the great talent on the state, the apple pie auction, and all the bands, craft shows, food and drink stands, as well as running into old friends.
there's always a lot going on. One of my daughters, Patti, was born on the day that we celebrated the first Apple Festival. She lives in Springfield, but she usually comes here to visit during the Apple Festival and we celebrate her birthday.
I want to thank Crain Funeral Home for the picture they put in plastic and sent me. That was very kind of Bill, Kirby, Shirley, and Donna. I appreciate that very much!
My gem... In a head filled with prejudice, there's no room for a good idea.
Today, I have a list of "Ellen's Words to Live By."
ELLEN'S WORLDS TO LIVE BY
Unless you jog or are politics, don't run for anything! There'll be another bus, train or plane along, and you'll spare yourself an ucler.
Set limits on your workload. Decide how much you can comfortably take on, and stick to it.
Donate, donate, donate. A church bazaar, a community clothing drive --- give lots of stuff.
Make yourself a priority. Put the visit with your friend and the book you just started at the top of your to-do list.
Spend time with nature. Sit under a tree, pause to watch a sunset or birds at the feeder --- make time to commune with the natural world.
When in doubt, throw it out. You sort of like the dress: someday you might need the gizmo. Qualifiers say let it go.
Dream, pray, meditate, think great thoughts. When you create time for your spiritual self, you can see more clearly what's important.
Keep what's essential; toss the rest. You need your IRA statement, but all those enclosures with it? Get rid of clutter when it comes in.
If it's getting on your nerves, it's sending you a message. Can't find the key you need on your overcrowded key chain? Time to thin it out.
Choose what not to simplify. Keep the items and activities you love, that make you happy, no matter how complicated.
