Hi,
Hooray! The Cardinals won!
And wasn't that last game of the World Series a thriller! I've been a Cardinal fan all of my life, and I'd like to congratulate each and every player on that team!
Now, I want to tell you all about the Halloween party that we held at our center this past week. Several of our members wore some interesting costumes. The winners were: Madeline Layne (prettiest), Nettie Graff (funniest), Angie Schiro (most interesting), Betty Jackson (most unusual), Mary Fritz (most colorful), and Frances Weber (most original).
Refreshments were served, followed by Bunco. Winners in that category were: Betty Ward (most Buncos), Mary Fritz (most games won), Angie Schiro (2nd place), and Ann Moniger (booby prize).
Frances Weber, and her helpers, did a very good job of making the party a lovely time for all who attended.
My daughters, Frances, Patti, and Linda, have been helping me while I'm recuperating from my carpel-tunnel operation on my right hand. They've been taking turns coming and staying with me, and I most certainly have appreciated that.
My great grandson, Jayson Stevens, is enjoying a leave, for a little while. He's a Marine, and was in Afghanistan for a while. So, we're all enjoying his visits with us. He'll be going back to Camp Lejeune in a couple of weeks. I hope and pray that this will end real soon so all of our boys can get home safely.
My gem... A thought to remember... To stay young, associate with youth. To grow old, try to keep up with them.
Today, I have some rules for the house.

RULES OF THE HOUSE

If you sleep on it, make it up.
If you wear it, hang it up.
If you drop it, pick it up.
If you eat out of it, wash it.
If you spill it, wipe it up.
If you turn it on, turn it off.
If you open it, close it.
If you move it, put it back.
If you break it, repair it.
If you empty it, fill it up.
If it rings, answer it.
If it howls, feed it.
If it cries, love it.
