Hi,
My daughter Linda visited me over the weekend and I enjoyed having her.
All my kids were born and raised here, and they all graduated from St. Andrew's Grade School and Murphysboro Township High School. Linda worked here at Human Services for years, and now she works in Frankfort, Ky. Her family moved to Shelbyville, Ky., several years ago.
She went to bingo with me, and we rode around Murphysboro looking at all the places where she lived and spent her time while living here..
Frances and Patti both live in Springfield, and they're planning to come this month. In fact, Frances will be here to play in our Kitchen Band. She gets to Murphysboro a lot because her son Scott lives here. Patty is coming later on this month. My son Robert lives here, so I see him quite often. There's nothing like family togetherness.
How about the weather? It's keep me busy wearing the long sleeves one day, and short sleeves the next day. The temperature is so changeable, but I guess we'll get summer weather soon.
Our Kitchen Band will be playing at the Senior Center on Monday, and we play at the Carbondale Senior Center on the first Monday of each month. We've lost a lot of our players, and we sure would like to get a few more. We have fun, so if any of you senior citizens out there would like to join us you'd be so welcome.
My gem... Yesterday is already a dream, and tomorrow is only a vision, but today well-lived, makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and tomorrow a vision of hope.
Today, I have an Old English Prayer I'd like to pass on. I found it among a group of poems I've collected throughout the years.

A Prayer
Give us, Lord, a bit o' sun,
A bit o' work and a bit o' fun,
Give us in all the struggle and sputter,
Our daily bread and bit o' butter,
Give us health our keep to make
And a bit of spare for other's sake
Give us, too, a bit of song,
And a tale and book to help us along,
Give us, Lord, a chance to be
Our goodly best, brave, wise, and free,
Our goodly best for ourselves and others
Till all men learn to live as brothers.
