If you can’t cruise to Cancun or melt away the winter doldrums in Miami, the third annual Cabin Fever show, Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Historic Liberty Theater, downtown Murphysboro, will get the job done.
On this years show bill, The Gordons, husband and wife bluegrass to folk, echo their Southern Illinois roots and well known artistry. The Bankesters tour the borders and all points between with appearances at bluegrass and music events with their enchanting six family member troupe, good to be back in the hills of home. And, the Giant City Slickers, a western swing band with Alex Kirt (Woodbox Gang), Mark Stoffel (Chris Jones and the Night Drivers), Dan Goett (Soul Glo, Woodbox Gang)  Nate Graham (Whistle Pigs) and  Jimmy Beers on drums and Blake Bramlett on bass, join together for an evening of great music.
Tickets are $12.00 and may be purchased on line at www.cabinfeverconcert.com or at the door the night of the show. Early arrivals get best seating for the 7 p.m. show time.
The Historic Liberty offers everything from the best in   blue grass, to classical presentations, community events, plays, and rentals that include weddings and reunions. First opened in 1913 as the Tilford Theater, the Liberty fell on hard times, closed, and was vacant until volunteers manned bucket brigades, patched up leaks, and face a never-ending renovation program. Memorials and bequests are accepted.  For more information on rentals, facilities, dates and rates, contact Lois Murphy, Director, at 618-684-5880.
